Canon EOS 10D Manual
Download Canon EOS 10D Manual - The Canon EOS 10D was the first camera to use Canon's patented DIGIC (Integrated Digital Circuit) image processor. The DIGIC processor delivers exceptional signal processing speed, reduced chip noise, and fast image management in the camera's internal memory, enabling you to achieve new levels of speed and flexibility during shooting. The chip controls all the fundamental functions of the camera, offering very fast response times. The DIGIC processor also allows the user to simultaneously capture RAW and JPEG files, which allows both a quick review and transmission of the images, as well as greater flexibility in the postproduction processes.
The EOS 10D is a digital SLR camera with 6.3-megapixel CMOSSensor (corresponding to 3088 x 2056 pixels). The sensor area is 15.1 x 22.7 mm, the pixel size is 7.4 mu (i.e., 0.0074 mm). These sensor dimensions result in a focal length extension factor of approx. 1.6 x in comparison to the small picture format. That is A 50 mm lens forms e.g. In combination with the EOS 10D, the same angle as an 80 mm lens, which is used on a camera with 24 x 36 mm film. The EOS 10D is equipped with a standard Canon EF bayonet (camera connection) and has the usual autofocus and exposure measurement functions of a modern reflex camera. This makes it ideally suited as a normal digital camera for daytime use, as my previous landscapes have shown. The images recorded on Type I and II Compact Flash cards can be viewed instantly on the built-in 1.8-inch TFT monitor and can be magnified up to ten times to check the sharpness. The camera-side selectable image recording formats are JPEG and Canon RAW (12 bit). The 10D has a B-setting, so it allows for any length of exposure time. The following accessories are available: Two trigger cables (with and without timer: TC-80N3 and RS-80N3), which enable camera-free triggering during long exposure times.
The potential of the 10D as an Astro camera can be easily seen by comparison with the aforementioned characteristics of the ideal Astro digital camera: the 10 D has a very high usable sensitivities of 1600 Asa (maximum possible 3200 Asa), which according to attempts by French amateur Christian Buil a Quantum efficiency of approximately 25% corresponds to [1]. Compared to the Astor films used today with sensitivities of 100 to 800 Asa, this already represents a considerable increase - especially since the sensor of the 10D does not have a black shielding effect. The sensitivity is maintained over the entire exposure time. However, the red sensitivity of the 10D should be higher.
